“It’s leaving custom impossible as no one can get parked when we are all on our knees.”
Wellington Road, Queen Street and Queen Elizabeth Road will have lane closures in place.
SGN Natural Gas said it had chosen a quiet time of year to carry out the work to minimise disruption.
The works also included the removal of the existing carriageway, and the installation of natural stone sets.
Local access will be provided where possible and access will be available for emergency vehicles at all times.
One lane of the Queen Elizabeth Road will be closed for two weeks.
Both Enniskillen Public Realm and Gas to the West works are continuing in the county town this week.
While the works are expected to last for three months, this is subject to “favourable weather conditions”.
Work on footpaths at two ends of the town will begin again on Monday.
The resurfacing work is being carried out as part of the public realm scheme.
