VOTING is underway across Fermanagh to select our next council.
Aside from a few showers, the weather has been holding steady across the county. It’s too early to tell the level of turnout, but anecdotally polling workers have been reporting a quiet day so far. Generally voters are more inclined to come out to exercise their democratic right when the sun is shining, and there is always a tea-time, after work rush.
If you haven’t voted yet don’t worry, polls are open until 10pm tonight. If you can’t find your polling card, don’t worry about that either. All you need is to be registered and to bring a photographic ID, such as a driving licence or passport. A Translink senior SmartPass will also do, for example.
The counting gets under way in Omagh tomorrow morning, with the final result expected to be known sometime around Saturday evening.
