The Donn Carragh Hotel
THE popular Donn Carragh Hotel in Lisnaskea has confirmed that it is ‘business as usual’ at the hotel this week.
The owner Gerry Reilly confirmed that the popular hotel is still open despite the lease holder’s unexpected exit last weekend.
Interim manager Terry McCarney has already got things rolling.
“Everybody has been really nice and welcoming, so I’m looking forward to the next couple of months. It’s a lovely little place and should be doing well.
“Hopefully, I’ll be able to steady the ship here and go forward and make a good job of it. It’s a busy time of year for us. There are a few things that need to be sorted out, but that’s the same anywhere you go. There is nowhere that you walk in in the hospitality industry and it’s an easy job. But there are plenty of good staff there that have been giving a brilliant hand, so there are very few challenges.
“The suppliers are working really well with us and the owner Gerry has been brilliant as have the staff. It’s just getting the place steadied and making sure everyone knows that we’re open and that we’re pushing on,” added Terry.
“We’ve a new menu coming on in the next few weeks with traditional type food. But we’re making sure the customers are getting good quality and good service. We’ve started training with the staff and hoping that it takes off during the summer months.”
The owner Mr Reilly had earlier said that the former lease owner had left unexpectedly and also paid tribute to the staff who had ensured that customers were well catered for.
