A HOST OF local country music talent, some up and coming stars and a legend of the industry will all join together at the Night with the Stars next Monday night in Kinawley.

The county music extravaganza will take place in Kinawley Community Centre on Monday night, July 14, starting at 9.30pm.

Country music is enjoying a huge renaissance at the moment, and Fermanagh is producing more than its fair share of singing talent.

This packed show in Kinawley includes some very talented local stars and mixes in some of the up and coming names in the Irish country music scene.

The ‘Night with the Stars’ features local acts including Vincy Walmsey, Fancie Smyth, Alana Maher, the Benn Sisters, Karl Kirkpatrick and Sean Corrigan.

Pat McManus, one of the organisers of the event, said they are delighted to have such a star studded line-up. In addition to our local talent we up and coming stars Lee Matthews and Paul Kelly performing as well as a performance from the legendary Brian Coll.”

Each of the acts will peform five to six songs and then hand over to the next act in an evening that is sure to appeal to country music fans of all tastes, and all ages.

“There is something for everyone – from the young to the old. It really is a night for all. Come along to the show for a great night of entertainment” continued Pat McManus.

Legendary singing star Brian Coll is looking foward to returning to Kinawley for the ‘night with the stars’.

“I’m over 50 years in the business now and I reckon I must have played every hall and carnival up and down the country.

“I’m over 70 now but I’m still singing but I probably do only 2 -3 shows a month now. I wouldn’t be heading in a van down to Cork” said Brian Coll.

Mr Coll said he does the odd charity gig as well but said his time has gone – and it’s now the time of the young stars such as Lee Matthews, Nathan Carter and Paul Kelly.

But he is glad to see how popular country music has become.

“People are flocking to live music – and the discos are empty, which is great for entertainers like us.”

Full bar facilities are available on the night and admission is £10 or €12, payable at the door of the centre with proceeds from the night going to the community hall fund.
