THE father of missing Enniskillen woman, Nollaig O’Connor, has issued a fresh appeal for information – following the discovery of a photo from the last time the two met in person – and revealed that his daughter’s bank account has not been accessed since the middle of summer last year.

Nollaig has been missing since the end of May last year, when she was spotted on CCTV in Cornwall.

This week, her father, Bernard O’ Connor, recalled the last time he spoke with Nollaig in person, in Aberdeen, and how the family continue to hope that she will get in contact.

Mr O’Connor revealed that Scottish police have told the family that the bank account that Nollaig has been using has not been accessed since the middle of last summer.

“We find that very alarming,” said Mr O’Connor, of Castleblaney.

“She could have changed bank accounts, she could have gone to the Continent, we don’t know.”

Nollaig is a daughter of Patricia (Belnaleck) and Bernard, and a sister of Philip, Nuala, Maire, Sinead, Erian, Aine and Meabh.

She had been living in Aberdeen, and was last spotted on CCTV in Cornwall on May 31 last year.

“It all happened coming up to Christmas when we all discovered that none of us had had any contact from her,”

Mr O’Connor explained. “For all those reasons, we got worried when we discovered at the Christmas Eve mass in the Graan that none of us had been in contact.”

Nuala, Nollaig’s sister, then appealed publicly on Facebook. The family were overwhelmed by the response.

“We were amazed because when Nuala put the original Facebook post up into the public, we got thousands of hits in the first couple of hours.

“That’s what we’re hoping, through people like yourselves, UTV, and anyone else who would like to pick it up, the wider it can spread – the hope is that somebody will come up with something.”

And, just days ago, Mr O’Connor came across a fresh photo of his missing daughter, taken when he went to see her at Easter time last year. It is the last time that he has spoken to her in person.

“She was delighted to see us. She was very good – but we did recognise that she was pretty stressed, by her activities, by the way she was reacting to us. She couldn’t stay very long in the same mood.”

The photo is of Nollaig out shopping.

“It gives a very updated, recent image of what she’d look like if you saw her on the street. It was when we saw her last, and it was a month later that she went missing.”

Mr O’Connor then described how the O’Connor family circle had come closer together.

“When trouble comes to a family, everyone tightens up and supports each other.

“And it’s the same in this case, although I would have to say that the stress of all this is pretty heavy.

“We would appeal to Nollaig – it’s not that we want to invade her space – we just want to know that she is OK.”
