PUPILS at Fivemiletown College are busy rehearsing at the moment for this year’s school concert.

The musical variety concert, which involves up to 90 pupils performing, and many more helping out, will take place in the school on Wednesday, December 4 and Thursday, December 5 at 7.30pm.

Head of Music at Fivemiletown College Adeline Magill is organising the concert and explains the concert features kids from right across the school and will feature vocalists, flute and clarinet ensembles and even a group of saxophones.

“We have songs from musicals such as Clamity Jane and Oklahoma and we also have ‘Everybody needs somebody’ – the hugely popular hit from the ‘Blues Brothers’.

This concert is for everyone – parents, family members and the wider Fivemiletown community – and it is hoped the community will support the kids, and the school as they have done in previous years.

Ms McGill said the school usually puts on a concert of this scale bi-annually and that she is the one who is responsible for instigating it and putting the concert together.

Talking about the type of music that will feature in the concert, Ms McGill said there will be something for everyone. “The music concert will feature all types of music and there will be something to appeal to everyone in there.”

Tickets for the concert can be obtained through the pupils of Fivemiletown College.
