A FERNEY PARK defeat was on the cards for Ballinamallard tonight, Tuesday.

Glenavon opened the scoring on the hour when David Rainey’s low volley from just outside the box sneaked inside the far post despite keeper Murphy getting his finger tips to the ball.

On 82 mins they scored a second when Neill headed home from close range after good work by substitute Hamilton and Bates.

In the first half Fergal Murphy made a great double save from Mark Patton’s spot kick after Carters was adjudged to have fouled.
