HUNDREDS of ‘Directioners’ are expected to descend on Enniskillen Omniplex cinema tomorrow evening as the world’s biggest boy-band makes their big screen debut.

As posters of the new One Direction movie adorned the walls of the cinema just over a month ago,  its website was inundated with ticket bookings from, undoubtedly, teenage girls, in a bid to secure their coveted seat for the premiere night.

Dubbed the Directioners, hundreds of fans from across Fermanagh will flock to claim their bit of what is expected to be a huge box office smash, putting the film on a par with the likes of Harry Potter and Twilight.

Tomorrow night will have the first screening of the multi-million pound film, One Direction: This Is Us, shown in cinemas across Ireland.

The film follows the famous pop pinups’ lives on the road and how their rise to stardom was cemented after appearing on the X Factor in 2010.

Fans will get a chance to see the famous five up close and personal as they share their experiences of being in the world’s biggest boy-band.

Some of the insights include Mullingar man Niall Horan at a family wedding in their hometown last year as well as one of the boys’ mothers becoming overwhelmed by her son’s demanding schedule.

Extra staff at the Enniskillen Omniplex cinema will be on-hand to prepare to greet Niall, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson tomorrow night.
Manager Michael Collins said he expects a busy weekend ahead.

“Going on pre-booking sales I’m expecting a good turnout. Tickets for the One Direction film have been on sale for over a month and as soon as we put them on the system they were being bought,” he said.

“After seeing the bookings for this Thursday we expect a nice big turn-out and it’s the same for the following few days.

“It might be a bit quieter on the Sunday night which it generally is.

“It will be a very busy few days catering for the One Direction fans. We are talking about 400 people per-day and that’s quite a good turnout for a film with a specific audience.

“Comparing it to other hit movies we would have to go into mainstream films like Harry Potter, Twilight and Lord of the Rings. As soon as we put the tickets on the net and in-house the pick-up was instant.

“The poster was barely in its holster and the fans were buying. Especially with teenagers being off over the summer, they are in and out of the cinema so it got out that they were online. They were asking straight away and multi-buying to make sure there were places available.

“It will be a big weekend. Everyone can get wrapped up in the whole One Direction hype.

“Normally the last weekend in the summer is a quiet one where we would wind down but we have had to put on extra staff to cope with the amount of people coming.”

There is no doubt this film will make them the first ever billionaire boy-band.
