Clogher Valley Rugby Club created a little bit of history on Saturday by reaching the All Ireland Junior Cup final for the first time.

But according to coach David Black the job is not yet done.

Black said his players “tackled their hearts out” in the semi final in Skibereen.

“The defence probably won us the game. The opposition just couldn’t break us down. They were really superb,” he said.

Black went onto say that nobody from this part of the world has reached these heights before and with Clogher Valley just 23 years old it’s an even more special achievement.

“The players have targeted this game from the start of the season and have really prepred well. I can’t believe how much they have put into this. They have been training to an unbelievable intensity.

“It’s great to be in the final, but we have to focus on our league game this week now. We want to push there as well. The cup is over for the minute, end of story and we’ll regroup for the final on February 1st.”
