Top band ready for Kinawley festival

A FIVE-man band who have been ‘blazing a trail on the Irish scene’ is set to stop off in Kinawley as part of a major and much-anticipated three-day festival next weekend.
‘The Highstool Prophets’, one of Ireland’s top up and coming bands, are returning to Fermanagh for what’s expected to be a sold-out show at the Kinawley Community Centre on Saturday.
The Cavan-based band recently headlined a concert at the packed Ardhowen Theatre. The Enniskillen venue was delighted to welcome ‘The Highstool Prophets’ for another top concert in Fermanagh.
“After a successful sold out performance at the Ardhowen in 2023, ‘The Highstool Prophets’ will return to play in County Fermanagh on April 25,” confirmed a spokesperson for the Ardhowen Theatre.
“The Cavan band have been blazing a trail on the Irish scene with a string of sold out shows, TV appearances and new music releases.”
‘The Highstool Prophets’ have made major strides in the local music scene, releasing some covers of top tracks, including ‘Zombie’ and Amy MacDonald’s ‘This Is The Life’.
“A rip-roaring band from day one, ‘The Highstool Prophets’ formed during the All Ireland Fleadh in Cavan in 2012 and have been singing, performing, and playing the very best of Irish music since,” the band said.
“Throughout the course of the band’s union, they have won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life; performing a mix of Irish ballads and folk songs with a unique twist.
“Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like The Dubliners, The Wolfetones, The Fureys and many more, The Highstool Prophets delve into Irish history and bring it to life through music and song.”
A range of other activities have been confirmed for the weekend at the Kinawley Community Centre, including a children’s disco on Friday and a special barbecue day on Sunday.
