Kaela Toye is celebrating being crowned Irish Master’s Champion, All Ireland Champion and European Champion in line dancing. Making her mark in line dancing means Kaela will travel to Blackpool in August to compete in the World Dance Masters.

A Primary three pupil at St. Macartan’s Primary School in Roslea, Kaela only began line dancing two years ago under the guidance of the Movers N Groovers Line Dancing Club in Newtownbutler and all at the club are hugely proud of her success.

Asked what she enjoys most about the dancing, six year old Kalea replied: “Coming first is fun. I’m dance mad and I always dance around the house.”
Despite her young age, Kaela already has her career planned out: “I’m going to be a school teacher during the week and a hairdresser at the weekend.
I also want to be a dance teacher on a Monday night because I always have time for dancing.”

For her tutor, Julie Rice, Kaela’s success represents another magnificent achievement, given her relatively short career in the line dancing field.
The Movers N Groovers club is now in its fifth year and meets every Monday night in Newtownbutler and on Tuesday nights in Donagh.

The modern line dance club has a membership of over 50 ranging in ages from three to 17 who enjoy both social and competitive dancing.

Club members were recently crowned champions at the All Ireland line dancing finals held in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. In total, the dancers brought home 14 top placings and are looking forward to cheering on champion Kaela this summer as she dances with one of the biggest line dance organisations in the world!
