Shock at death of popular young man

A COMMUNITY has been left devastated by the sudden death of a popular 23-year-old man on Monday.

Grieving parents of Damian ‘Damo’ Maguire from Trillick have been left devastated by his tragic death. Geraldine and Mark Maguire were being comforted by family and friends after he was discovered at his father’s home outside Trillick.  It is believed he took his own life.

Canon John McKenna, Parish Priest in Trillick described the terrible shock that has gripped the village.
“His mother is heartbroken and devastated and is in complete shock over this,” he added.
“His parents are devastated. I spent a lot of time with them last night before his sisters got home.  I baptised Damian, he was a lovely young fella. He was very helpful to a lot of people and get on well with everyone. “It’s a terrible shock. We will never know the answer why.
“This type of death seems to have become very common throughout the country.”

The car fanatic was employed at MJ Prestige, a car sales business in Trillick, where he had worked for the last four years.
Employer and close friend Martin McElholm described him as a “diligent and trustworthy” worker.
