Started to raise awareness and money for the ALS (or motor neurone disease) charity, likely thousands in the county have braved the cold water for a good cause.

The point of the videos is to raise awareness and money for charity, with those taking part expected to donate money to charity after having done so.

The main charity that people are donating to is the ALS association, ALS is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as motor neurone disease

When someone is nominated, they have 24/48 hours to complete the challenge.

Among the latest were the Fermanagh ladies GAA team who are preparing for their All-Ireland semi-final.

And while there’s no doubt the ladies are putting in a brave shift ahead of that game against Roscommon on Saturday, getting soaked for charity may have constituted a welcome break.

The ladies take on Roscommon in Pearse Park, Longford from 1.45pm on Saturday, September 6. It’s also live on TG4.
