“She honed her skills in local folk clubs and soon became a sought-after performer in the Irish music scene.
“Frances’s music often explores themes of love, loss, and personal growth, resonating deeply with listeners who connect with her honest and heartfelt lyrics.
“Her ability to convey raw emotions through her soulful voice has earned her numerous accolades and awards throughout her career,” they added.
Aside from her hugely successful music career, Ms Black has used her position to be vocal on a range of issues, including calling for more support for people living with addiction.
She was elected to the Seanad Éireann in 2016 as an Independent candidate and she’s continued to lobby on a number of different important matters.
“Frances [Black] continues to perform and record music, captivating audiences with her powerful vocals and genuine stage presence,” said the Ardhowen Theatre.
“She remains an influential figure in the Irish music industry, inspiring generations of musicians with her talent and unwavering commitment to spreading positivity and making a difference in the lives of others.
“Frances Black’s remarkable career and philanthropic endeavours have solidified her legacy as an exceptional artist and compassionate human being.
