Fermanagh businesses attend Lough Erne event

LEADING business lights from Fermanagh and across the North turned out to the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen for a major meeting to discuss how they can use “energy resources more efficiently”.

The Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which supports local businesses across the North, recently held a hugely successful business sustainability event in Lough Erne Resort.

Businesses and companies across the North are battling to make their resources and processes more environmentally friendly, as attention focuses in on the ever-worsening climate change issue.

Sustainability Director at Encirc, Fiacre O’Donnell, was one of the many business leaders who turned out to the Lough Erne Resort for the conference.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry felt that the ‘Successful Sustainability’ event was important for businesses to chart out their future plans.

“The morning was jam packed with representatives from businesses across Fermanagh and the wider area with a range of sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, recruitment and education,” they said.

“Delegates heard from senior leaders at Derrylin based manufacturing company, Encirc including Fiacre O’Donnell, Sustainability Director and Rebecca Dilworth, Stakeholder Engagement Manager.

“The pair discussed the power of partnerships, cultivating employee experience and Encirc’s impact on the wider community.

“Greenwich Leisure Limited’s (GLL) Senior Regional Director, Gareth Kirk also spoke as a charitable enterprise whose key focus is providing services to the communities in which they operate,” they added.

Based in Linehall Street in Belfast, the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry said its committed to helping local businesses battle against the climate change crisis.

“This event will focus on how businesses can manage their energy resources more efficiently and why doing so will be fundamental to achieving net zero ambitions,” said a spokesperson for the NI Chamber.
