Fermanagh and South Tyrone goes to the polls

AFTER months of campaigning, the people of Fermanagh and South Tyrone (FST) are now having their say today on who will be the area’s next MP.

Voting is now under way across the UK in the general election, in what could be a historic day for the Labour Party if polls are to be believed.

Here in FST, where there are six candidates in the running for one Westminster seat, it is expected once again to come down to a two-way contest between Sinn Féin and the Ulster Unionist Party, who are being represented by Pat Cullen and Cllr Diana Armstrong, respectively. Indeed, come the wee hours of tomorrow morning, all eyes could once again be on the FST count, which is famous for being one of the closest run election races in the UK.
