A FORMER policeman and current serving Councillor has claimed years of management being “out of touch” has led to officers in Fermanagh and the North being awarded a £30million payout.
The PSNI were landed with the massive bill following a Supreme Court decision ordering them to pay retrospective back-pay for overtime for officers who served the force between 1998 to 2018.
Cllr John McClaughry worked as a police officer during that period and he states that management was aware of this at the time but decided to ignore backpay claims.
