BODY AND MIND: Using meditation to lower blood pressure

People should try to meditate for around 45 minutes every day to cut stress-related high blood pressure, say new guidelines.

At a recent meeting of the International Society of Hypertension several practices were endorsed to help lower blood pressure without the intervention of drugs. Obviously for some people taking drug therapy will be imperative but lifestyle practices were recommended including meditation, taking time out to listen to music, doing yoga and practicing mindfulness.
