Death of well-known Kilmacormick resident

THERE is widespread sadness in Kilmacormick and throughout Enniskillen following the death of Frank McCaffrey.
Seventy-nine-year-old Frank McCaffrey of McKeown Terrace, Cornagrade Road, Enniskillen died on Friday November 8th following an illness.
Frank was well known in the area, and a big crowd of neighbours attended his funeral on Monday at St Michael’s Church, Enniskillen.
Burial took place afterwards in Breandrum Cemetery.
Frank was the son of the late Thomas and Tessie McCaffrey and brother of Helen and the late Bridie, Rita, Kathleen, Josie, Gregory and Sean.
In his later years, Frank lived on his own, was terminally ill and was deaf.
In August, Frank suffered a terrifying ordeal after his home on the Cornagrade Road was broken into by heartless thieves and a sum of money was stolen in a burglary which shocked the entire community.
After hearing about the incident, the staff at the deli at Rooney’s Eurospar set up a Crowdfunding page and local people in the area generously raised over £1,500.
At the time, Frank was extremely grateful for the support he received from the community.
Speaking to the Herald following the death of her uncle, Frank’s niece Siobhan Brown said, “Frank will be sadly missed by all of his family, friends and the staff in Martin Rooney’s shop on the Cornagrade Road.”
Frank is survived by his nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
