Driver miraculously escapes injury after horrific crash

POLICE in Fermanagh have issued a stark warning to drivers no to get behind the wheel after taking drink following a horrific crash in the county last weekend.
The PSNI shared photographs of Saturday night’s crash, seen here, on Sunday morning to highlight the dangers of drink driving. They did not state where the collision happened, but the Herald understands it was in the Enniskillen area.
“This was the scene we faced last night, the cause, a drunk driver,” said a police spokesman.
“Thankfully no one was seriously injured but the pictures speak for themselves.”
Stating the driver had been taken into custody, the spokesman added: “Why are people not getting the message?”
Meanwhile, police have asked for information about alleged dangerous driving in the Florencecourt area of the county. A spokesman said local PSNI had received a report from a member of the public about a driver doing “donuts” at Florencecourt Cross going on to the Swanlinbar Road at around 7pm on Monday evening.
“It is believed an elderly gentleman driving a grey van witnessed this as well as the caller and also shouted at the male driving dangerously,” said the spokesman. “We are looking to get in contact with this elderly male to aid in our enquiries.”
Anyone who may have witnessed the driving is asked to call 101.
