Warning of drug-users at Lough Erne beauty spot

YOUNG people have been warned against spoiling a local beauty spot with anti-social behaviour.
Muckross Bay near Kesh is reportedly being used as a site for anti social behaviour and drug taking.
The site on the edge of Lough Erne has become increasingly popular with young people who gather in the area and carry out unacceptable behaviour.
A spokesman from PSNI Fermanagh have said police are going to be patrolling the area to deter those who are misusing Muckross Bay.
“A beautiful spot that has recently been spoiled by anti-social behaviour and drug taking. We will be out and if appropriate, individuals and vehicles may be searched.”
Local Councillor David Mahon (pictured) said there is no place for this kind of behaviour in the local community.
“Muckross  has always been known for its beauty and attracts many tourists and locals. It is unfortunate that some mindless people take it upon themselves to degrade and spoil a place such as this. There is no place for anti-social behaviour or drug taking in our society, and certainty it is not welcome in Kesh. “I would encourage all users of such areas to be mindful of their surroundings and do nothing which takes away from their appeal and more importantly the safety for others. “I would appeal to the public to come forward to the PSNI with any information which could lead to justice being brought on these mindless criminals “
