Festival time for foodies!

 

It’s time for Festival Lough Erne, a celebration of the very best local food and the Fermanagh Lakelands! Festival Lough Erne is returning for a fourth year this weekend on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September 2018.   The weekend will see a host of activity on and off the water with cookery demonstrations from guest chefs, local artisan food and drink producers and live entertainment, as well as a range of water based activities, all taking place at Enniskillen Castle.

Over the course of the two days local chefs including Declan O’Donoghue, chef and owner of Erne Larder Preserves, Stephen O’ Connor, executive chef at Silverbirch Hotel and Gavin Cassidy, executive head chef at the Westville, among others, will perform live cookery demonstrations for all to enjoy.  With local food and drink producers such as Baked in Belfast, Baronscourt Brewing Company, Erin Grove Preserves, Kennedy Bacon, Granny Shaws Fudge, Red Dog Artisan Foods and much more, visitors will have the opportunity to sample and purchase delicious produce throughout the weekend.

Festival goers will also enjoy children’s activities with the Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark, street entertainers and live music from local bands and a display from Lough Erne Heritage providing a unique insight into the importance of the waterway in by-gone years; all compered by Fermanagh’s own Bryan Gallagher.  Daily admission to Festival Lough Erne is only £2 per person and under 12s go free.  Admission also includes entry to both museums on site at Enniskillen Castle. Festival Lough Erne takes place at Enniskillen Castle on Saturday 22 September from 11am to 6pm and Sunday 23 September 12 noon to 6pm.  Come along and join the fun!
