Ireland’s only island town, Enniskillen, is hosting Festival Lough Erne, a celebration of the very best of local food and the Fermanagh Lakelands, for a third year, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September 2017.
The weekend will see a host of activity on and off the water with cookery demonstrations from guest chefs, local artisan food and drink producers and live entertainment, all taking place at Enniskillen Castle; heritage gateway to the area and beyond.
Over the course of the two day festival guest chefs including Paula McIntyre and Noel McMeel will perform live cookery demonstrations. The very best of local artisan producers and businesses and many more will be showcasing their products for sample and purchase.
Other activity and entertainment will include a display from Lough Erne Heritage providing a unique insight into the importance of the waterway in bygone years, children’s activities with the Marble Arch Caves UNESCO Global Geopark, street entertainers and live music from local bands; all compered by Fermanagh’s own Bryan Gallagher.
A range of free of charge water based activities, including canoe taster sessions from Erne Paddlers and Erne Water Taxi tours, will also be on offer.
