Calling all heroes and villains to Paddy’s Day parade

St Patrick waves to the crowd at last year’s parade in Enniskillen

Plans are afoot for this year’s annual St Patrick’s Day parade in Enniskillen. As the national holiday falls on a Friday this year, organisers are hoping that this year’s March 17th festivities will be the biggest and best yet.
They are now encouraging as many statutory, community, voluntary organisations and of course businesses to take part in their ‘Heroes & Villains’ parade as possible.
However, they need to impose a deadline of Friday, 17th February to ensure the parade flow.
One organiser told the Herald: “We are particularly appealing to principals and school boards to see this as a great opportunity for pupils to practice citizenship in a really simple way.
It’s a great way of raising your profile and we are on hand to give you advice to put together a really great float. And, given the theme this year, it’s really never been easier!
Project St Patrick are keen to make the festival even better to take advantage of the Bank Holiday weekend and showcase all our county has to offer!
