A man whose wife was killed in a house fire in Enniskillen on December 27 has lost his fight for life.

Franklin Reid, believed to be in his 70s, was critically injured in the blaze at Silverhill Park, in which his wife Daphne Reid died. He passed away in hospital this morning. The couple had lived in the area for 20 years and were well known throughout the county.

While the cause of the fire is not yet known, police are not treating the blaze as suspicious.

It was the second fatal house fire in Enniskillen within a month, following the tragic death of John Brazil at Drumbay Close on December 3.
