Ballinamallard United last night confirmed the signing of rangy Dergview midfielder Adam Lecky.
The club lost the dynamic David Kee at the end of the season to Linfield, but Lecky will give the Mallards further options in midfield following on the acquisition of Shane McCabe from Glenavon.
Lecky stands at six foot five, has a great first touch and at 24-year-old is coming into the prime of his career. Ballimallard boss Whitey Anderson was delighted to have secured the midfielder’s signature.
“Adam is a player I have watched and admired for some time,” said Anderson. “Having observed him playing this season for Dergview on three occassions I have no doubt that he can step up to the plate and play Premier League football.
“He will add a new different dimension to our play and we have serious competition for places in the midfield area. I will also be looking at Adam as a possible cover at centre half. Its a position I believe he could play.”
Dergview issued the following statement on confirmation of the transfer.
“The club would like to thank Adam for the commitment he has shown us and wish him all the best with this opportunity to play in the premier league,” said the club.
