There was a heavy police presence visible in the Camphill Park area of Newtownbutler yesterday, Tuesday, where the woman was found. The name of the deceased has not yet been released by police.

The spokesman said: “Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman following an incident in the Newtownbutler area on Sunday, April 12. Enquiries are continuing.”

The tragedy follows news of the unexpected deaths of two young women in Enniskillen. On Thursday past, April 9, Maeve Sheridan (28) was found dead in Enniskillen. And, on Monday, April 13,  Sarah-Jane Lunny (29), from Enniskillen, was found dead at her home in the Cornagrade area. Police are treating neither death as suspicious.

In the Camphill Park area of Newtownbutler, a heavy police presence was evident yesterday. Unmarked police cars guarded the entrance to the estate, while two cars parked side by side remained outside the house.

Sinn Fein Councillor, Thomas O’Reilly, who lives in Newtownbutler, said that his thoughts were with the woman’s family and friends.

“Certainly people are shocked and very very saddened that somebody would be found in these very tragic circumstances.
