THE BROTHER of a 29-year-old woman who was found dead in Enniskillen on Monday (April 13), has paid tribute to ‘the best sister you could ask for’.

Her brother, Niall, speaking to the Fermanagh Herald, offered a glowing report of his late sister.

“She was the best sister you could ask for. She was a fantastic auntie to my kids and to her sister Claire’s. She was very caring, she was fantastic – she was the life and soul of the family,” he said.

Born in Enniskillen, Sarah-Jane attended St Fanchea’s, Fermanagh College and later went on to study sports coaching at Liverpool Hope University.

Niall added: “If ever there was a fun family time Sarah-Jane was the centre of it.”

Sarah-Jane had spent time working with the elderly, something that Niall said reflected her personality: “She looked after the elderly and did a lot of home help. She was a very very caring girl and she’s gone too soon.

“She enjoyed watching gaelic, she loved watching Fermanagh and her main interests were her family friends – and her nieces and nephews.”

Niall said that there has been widespread shock among friends, family and the wider community.

“Her friends just can’t believe it,” he said, “They’ve been saying how she was the life and soul of the party, a great friend. She was always there to listen to other people’s problems, never mind her own, she was always there to listen. If she could help anyone, look after anyone, Sarah-Jane was always the one you could rely on.”

Sarah-Jane is survived by her father Kevin, mother Mary, and siblings Niall and Claire. She is also fondly remembered by her wider family and friends.

The funeral Mass will take place today, Wednesday April 15, at 10am in St Michael’s Church, Enniskillen.
