THERE WAS a steady if unspectacular uptake yesterday for the public information session held in Enniskillen Bus Station over the proposed cuts to local services.
The session was part of the consultation process currently out to review bus services in the North.
In Fermanagh the 95C Enniskillen to Roslea service, the 294 Enniskillen to Altnagelvin route and all three Enniskillen town services (397A, 397B and 397C) face the chop.
The public information session yesterday held from 10am to 2pm allowed passengers the opportunity to meet local Translink representatives to discuss the proposals.
Copies of a questionnaire for passengers to complete were also available. In this survey Translink ask 10 questions regarding travel and ask what impact there would be if certain routes were reduced or removed.
The consultation process runs until April 3 and local people are encouraged to voice their opinions through the survey, available online and in print at the bus station in Enniskillen. Translink hope the consultation will identify what is most important to customers to help Translink best design the bus network to operate within allocated resources, while protecting those routes most essential to customers.
Ciaran Rogan, Translink Marketing Executive said, “We would very much urge our passengers to participate in this process and contribute to shaping the future of our local bus services.”
Deadline for responses to the consultation exercise is 3 April 2015. For further information click www.translink.co.uk/servicechanges or call the Translink contact centre on 028 90 66 66 30.
