It’s four great days of entertainment in Mahon’s Hotel, Irvinestown for St Patrick’s weekend this year. And guess what, it’s all for free.

It kicks off on Saturday March 14 with Dungiven born Joe Moore. After working in the building industry he turned to music as a full time occupation in 1997 and has never looked back.

Designated a new traditionalist, Moore has continued to attract audiences with a preference for an earlier style of country music. His popularity has spread beyond Ireland and his following extends through Europe and Scandinavia. Moore’s repertoire includes many covers of songs made popular by American country artists as well as a few original songs, some of which were composed by Irish songwriters:

Then on Sunday March 15 it’s the unbelievable Whstlin’ Donkeys and if you haven’t seen them by now, you don’t know what you’re missing.

It’s six lively men all with a passion for music and entertainment and with an added flair for Irish folk music.

They have supported the Beach Boys, Dr Hook, Ray Sawyer and Hot Chocolate.

In their short time on the music scene, the talented Irish Folk Band have already made their mark across the country. With The Whistlin Donkeys releasing their album ‘Raise The Roof’ this is one band to be watched.

Mahon’s, their ‘adopted home’ is the place to see them.

From the Hills of Donegal to every corner of the country, the word in 2015 will be The Tractor Boys.

That’s whose playiing the gig at Mahon’s on March 16.

A 5 piece celtic rock band from Donegal The Tractor Boys are taking the live music scene by storm. With a set that includes classics from the likes of Horslips, Waterboys, the Pogues and Goats Don’t Shave to name a few, With a UK and Scandinavian tour booked and festival gigs in Ireland for the summer of 2015, the future looks bright and The Tractor Boys are a must see for all music lovers.

What a day of entertainment there is scheduled for St Patrick’s Day itself.

It all starts in the morning with the steam trains from all over Ireland doing a tour of Irvinestown followed by traditional music with Aine Nugent and friends from 3.00p.m the top traditional musicians in Ireland . followed by the Voice of Country Anthony Mc Brien.

The man with the pure country voice has being singing now for almost 20 years and has achieved many things and fulfilled many dreams throughout his career. He has four CD’s to date ‘Choices’ being his latest, and two DVD’s. His latest DVD is entitled ‘Me and My Country. The Anthony Mc Brien Duo is one of the most popular two-piece bands in the country featuring Chris Kerrigan on keyboards.

So if you are into music then it’s a great four days of entertainment at Mahon’s Hotel and all for free .
