A 21-year-old Enniskillen man who pulled down his trousers and exposed himself to police officers and two girls after a ‘night of partying’, has been handed a community service order.

Kalem Simon Patrick Dorrian, of Oakfield Court, admitted that his behaviour was “immature” and apologised to police moments after exposing himself.

He was handed 100 hours of community service and is to serve a total of 200 hours because of a previous offence.

A prosecutor explained that on May 31, last year, at around 9.30am, police received a report that an address in Glebe Park in Enniskillen was noisy as a party was ongoing.

Officers got to kitchen door when they were approached by Dorrian. While they spoke to him the officers noticed his pupils were dilated and he told them he had been “partying all night”.

The officers suspected he was under the influence of drugs and the defendant was told he would be searched.

Dorrian then indicated that he was going to pull down his tracksuit bottoms but he was told in no uncertain terms that he was not to pull them down.

He waited a moment and then pulled his trousers down along with his underwear and exposed his genitals.

The court heard that it was in a built up area and he exposed himself in front of two girls, a resident and two officers. The prosecutor stated that Dorrian thought it was amusing. However, he said to the officers:

“I’m sorry for doing that, I should not have done that.”

Defence solicitor Emer Cox said her client accepted his part in the incident and that he was remorseful.

“He is very embarrassed and has little memory of the incident due to the level of his intoxication.
He has taken on a health and fitness programme.

“He accepts his behaviour was immature.”

District Judge Nigel Broderick stated that if he breaches the community service order he should expect a custodial sentence
