The Ice bucket challenge has gone viral in Fermanagh

IT’S THE latest campaign to go viral online, and, as always, Fermanagh has wasted no time in getting involved.

Scrolling down your newsfeed on Facebook – or your timeline on Twitter you may have spotted videos of friends and family pouring a bucket of ice over themselves before nominating others to do the same.

The point of the videos is to raise awareness and money for charity, with those taking part expected to donate money to charity after having done so.

The main charity that people are donating to is the ALS association, ALS is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as motor neurone disease

When someone is nominated, they have 24/48 hours to complete the challenge.  Pictured is Enniskillen resident Marta Lauze.

The 19-year-old who took the challenge for us yesterday, said that it was ‘a bit of craic’. And although she hadn’t been nominated was happy to take part.

“It went well – it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Plus it was warm and sunny outside which helped!”
