Young movie makers looking for your help

Coonian Film 03

THE WOODS…Are there ghosts in those woods?

A GROUP of young film makers are planning a movie ‘Cooneen: The Road to the Hills’ and they need your help.

They are looking for extras at a special audition in the  Lakeland Forum in Enniskillen in two or three weeks time.

Anyone who wants to be part of the film, whether it be behind the scenes, make-up, camera assistants and sound, are encouraged to attend.

Enthusiastic young director Riagain Grainger explained, “We’re hoping to shoot the film in mid July and finish by September.”

He’s hoping the finished article can be screened in the Omniplex in Enniskillen sometime in October.

Filming is scheduled to take place at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh, Enniskilen Castle and Castle Coole dungeon.

St Michael’s College teacher Garvan Gallagher, who worked on the 2010 ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ and in 2011 ‘Oliver’ in the Ardhowen, will help produce the movie along with Kieran Dolan, while sound tracks will be by local musicians Blurred Lines and the script is written by Eoin Hamill and Matthew McCaffrey.

The feature length film is centred on the 100 year old tale of the Cooneen Ghost House.

Based on true events, a widowed mother Bridget Murphy, her five daughters and one son, move into a new house in the Brookeborough area looking for a fresh new start after the father’s recent death.

Soon after they moved into the isolated house they start to experience para normal attacks, not knowing the dark secret about the house’s past.
