Fermanagh Ladies: Last chance saloon against Antrim

TASK… Lisa Woods

Fermanagh ladies have their final chance to enjoy championship success as they take on Antrim this Saturday in Crossmaglen in an intermediate clash.

Beaten narrowly last time out by Down, Fermanagh have this play off tie with Antrim, the winners advancing to the provincial decider against Down.

Team manager Lisa Woods expressed cautious optimism about the Erne prospects of reaching that decider.

“We will have some of the panel absent for a variety of reasons,” she explained, “ and that will make things that bit more difficult for us.

But we will be taking the positives from our recent defeat at the hands of Down and we would be quite hopeful, but not over confident of doing well on Saturday”.

Fermanagh have not played Antrim this season so it’s a case of going into the unknown to some extent and there is the full expectation of, “ it being a tough game.”

Fermanagh do have the benefit of having that recent championship outing under the belt and that perhaps will give them slight edge in regard to match sharpness.

Big performances required however from the more experienced panel members but they have delivered in the past and an Erne win is a real possibility here.
