Mr McCartney replaces Rodney Watson who held the post for almost 20 years.

The NILHA is a collection of hotels and accommodation in the south west of Northern Ireland and includes Fermanagh and Tyrone.

The association partners with Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism with regards to the marketing and promotion of the area.
Terry has been involved with the NILHA since 1995 and has previously been Treasurer and also looked after the marketing. He has also be on the Board of the NIHF for almost 10 years.

Heavily involved with Destination Fermanagh and it’s sub committees, Terry is looking forward to his role as chairman.

“I’m honored to follow both Rodney Watson and my father, the late Raymond McCartney, be the new chair of the NILHA. If we continue to work closely as a tourism community we can increase the profile of Fermanagh on a national stage.”

Terry McCartney explains the group meet up once a month for their own mutual benefit to discuss issues such as how best to market both themselves and the county as a product.

He also said it gives tourism providers a chance to chat about common issues and to learn from each other.
