On Thursday (Yesterday), Yuan He (28) of Benburb Street in Belfast appeared before Strabane Magistrates Court in connection with the drugs discovery.

Wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a blue top, He spoke through a Mandarin interpreter only to confirm his identity and that he understood the charges before him.

The accused faces three counts, one of possession of a Class B drug, one of supplying and a third of conspiring with others to supply a Class B substance.

The court was told that six interviews had been carried out to date but that the case could prove lengthy because of the amount of drugs found.

No bail application was made and Yuan He was remanded in custody to appear at Enniskillen Magistrates Court via video link on January 27.

Speaking of the incident, Inspector Roy Robinson, Sector Commander, Enniskillen , said: “In continuing our commitment in tackling drug crime, the seizures which took place yesterday were successful in taking these drugs off the streets.

“These seizures show our committment to tackling the issue of drugs on our streets. We are determined to work with the communities and partner agencies to bring people before the courts. Drugs remains a problem throughout Northern Ireland, and despite drug related fatalities and repeated warnings regarding the dangers, there remain those that insist in taking illegal drugs. Where there is a demand there will always be criminal elements from within the community who are willing to supply and with this in mind the PSNI continue to appeal to anyone who has any information in relation to illegal drugs, to contact local police on 0845 600 800 or, alternatively, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”.
