THE ‘Quinn Group’ is no more.

In time, the old name will disappear from the livery of the company’s distinct green and white fleet of lorries and, also, from the firm’s diaries, calendars, and other promotional material.

And, the change was marked in a practical way at the  firm’s head offices in Derrylin when the signs, bearing the old name, were taken down.

The new name for the group is, Aventas and, from now on, the company will trade as, ‘Aventas Group’.

A company spokesman said the name, ‘Aventas’ was chosen in that the word combines, the Latin for ‘Ave, (hello) and ‘advent’ (arrival).

The name change specifically applies to the Quinn Manufacturing Group, arguably the best-known of the various divisions within the group.

It’s the second name change, following on the heels of the rebranding of the group’s Plastics Division to Polycasa.

The spokesman explained that the three remaining operating divisions will be rebranded in due course, namely glass, packaging, and construction industry supplies.

Explaining the change of name, Paul O’Brien, the chief executive of Aventas Group said the firm was
now well into its third year since the change of ownership, ‘and we have decided that the time is right to rebrand our business.’

He commented: “While respecting the achievements and heritage of the past, we have chosen a name, Aventas Group, which puts a greater emphasis on looking to the future.”

But, he stressed that, otherwise, it was, ‘very much business as usual for our divisions, their management teams and our people’.

The Glass Division has two modern plants, one in Derrylin and the other in Elton, in Cheshire, England.

It is a major supplier of container glass to the British and Irish markets. It is the only glass plant in Europe which combines the manufacture and filling of glass containers under one roof.

The Polycasa Division comprises six plastics manufacturing plants spread across the Continent.

The Packaging Division  has its manufacturing plant in Ballyconnell, and is a leading producer of both rigid and flexible food packaging for the UK and Ireland markets.

The Construction Industry Supplies Division supplies cement and other associated building products to the Irish and UK markets.

The radiator business, based Newport, Wales, is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of panel and design radiators. The plant is the largest radiator manufacturing plant in Europe.
