Lisnaskea firm secures lucrative £1m Gulf deal

A LISNASKEA firm has expanded its borders to newer markets agreeing a million pound deal in the Gulf.

The 2012 Fermanagh Herald Businessperson of the Year Maurice Kettyle, managing director of Kettyle Irish Foods, was delighted to report a new distribution deal worth around £1m for premium beef and lab in key Gulf markets such as the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Mr Kettyle commented: “We’ve been targeting affluent Gulf markets especially the Emirates and Saudi Arabia for some time and have now secured encouraging business for our 40-day-aged beef and 14 day-aged lamb with leading retailer and the prestigious Raffles Hotel Group in Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

Kettyle Irish Foods currently employs around 45 people in its dry-ageing and processing operations in a modern factory in Lisnaskea. Kettyle sells beef, lamb and bacon to 15 global markets including France, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster made the announcement of the new deal at the conclusion of an Invest Northern Ireland trade mission to Dubai. The Fermanagh company was assisted by Invest NI to line up the International deal and the Minister said it was only the beginning for the award winning enterprise

“This is immensely significant business for Kettyle Irish Foods in one of the fastest growing markets for premium quality food especially beef and lamb.

“The new business will provide Kettyle with a solid base for further growth in these and neighbouring markets in which the high quality, traceability and provenance of our meat and other foods in being increasingly recognised.
