70-year-old man accused of growing cannabis

AN ELDERLY man and a 51-year-old woman from Belleek have been accused of growing cannabis and dishonestly causing electricity to be diverted.

Margaret Mary Watters, with an address on the Loughshore Road, Corry, and 70-year-old Peter Lam, of Corry Shore Road, Belleek both appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates Court accused of the offences.

The alleged offences are said to have occurred on April 30 last year at Railway Street in Belcoo.

The pair did not object to a preliminary enquiry. Defence solicitor Michael Fahy is representing both defendants in the case.

A prosecutor told the court there is a prima facie case to answer.

Both defendants are to return to Dungannon Crown Court on December 3 for a preliminary enquiry.
