Tomorrow (Monday), Belleek-born Pat O’Loughlin (76) will tackle his 34th consecutive (Dublin City) marathon, for the MS charity.
“I will be the only one from Northern Ireland that has run that many, so I’m hoping to keep up the record. I have managed 33 so far, but I’m getting a wee bit stiff this year.”
A former Fermanagh footballer – he is a member of the famous ‘59 All-Ireland Junior winning team – Pat, left, now lives in Castlederg.
Pat reckons that, since 2000 he has raised between £45,000 and £50,000 for MS.
Prior to that, he ran for various charities, cancer awareness/support, diabetes support groups and muscular dystrophy to name but three.
Sponsorship sheets can be had from any member of Pat’s family in Belleek.
