Women in Fermanagh have a life expectancy of 82.5 years meaning they are sixth in having the longest life expectancy for women across the North’s 26 council areas.
This is in stark contrast to Fermanagh men who have an average life expectancy of 77.7 years, putting them in the bottom 15 of council areas.
Local men and women live over the average life expectancy, with men living 77 years while women live on average 81.5 years.
Compared to neighbouring council areas, Omagh men die around three months earlier than Fermanagh men but Omagh women outlive local women by around four months.
Belfast is unsurprisingly at the bottom of the table with women born in the city having a life expectancy of 79.8 years while men live to an average of 73.9 years.
During the period of data collection women in Limavady had the longest life expectancy of people across Northern Ireland at 83.2 years, while men in Magherafelt had the highest life expectancy at 79.4 years.
The figures were released following a question tabled by a DUP MLA Peter Weir and produced by Finance minister Simon Hamilton.
The life expectancy figures for Northern Ireland are currently produced by the Office for National Statistics.
It was carried out during the period of 2008 to 2010 for life expectancy at birth by sex and local government district.
