Shane McCabe has signed a one year contract with Glenavon and insists he is ‘fully committed’ to the Mournview Park club.
For the past 18 months the midfielder has been devoting his time to playing gaelic football for his county, Fermanagh.
McCabe returned to Fermanagh last January after parting company with Portadown.
Glenavon were keen to sign McCabe in the January transfer window.
McCabe has said that he wanted to go back to county football with Fermanagh and wanted to give it his best as he felt he had only two years left at that level.
But this week he said he was delighted to be back in Irish League football.
He will probably need a few weeks training before manager Gary Hamilton calls him into the first team squad.
The Glenavon manager said, “I’m delighted to see that Shane has signed. He is a player I tried to get previously, but it didn’t work out. I played along side him at Glentoran and he is a winner. He has experience and quality.”
