New hotel opens in time for Christmas

Santa arrives in Belleek, escorted by PJ Daly.

A LARGE crowd turned out in Belleek for three major events in one last Friday evening.
For it was the official launch of the Christmas season with the switching on of the Christmas lights as the crowd gathered in and around the tree in front of the sparkling Eden.
And, naturally no event would be complete without the arrival of Santa Claus as scores of bright- eyed children queued up to meet the main man.
But the most significant of all was that Friday marked the long awaited opening of the Glen Eden Hotel, formerly the Carlton Hotel, and it did not disappoint.
The 35 bedroomed hotel is looking better than ever and is a much needed extra facility in the run up to Christmas.
The hotel was packed to the rafters with banter and bonhomie and the Belleek businesses who helped to organise the evening provided some tasty mince pies.
It is a long time since Belleek has had such a well -attended event and it certainly has got the Christmas season off to a bright start.
And it is full steam ahead for the Glen Eden which promises to be a popular venue for eating out and going out in the west Fermanagh area.
The new hotel is expected to create around 40 jobs which will be a massive boost for the local community.
