COULD Josie Boyle and Teresa Maguire be Ireland’s oldest twins?
The Derrylin twins celebrated their 90th birthday last weekend and it is possible that they may be the oldest twins in Ireland.
The ladies spent Sunday celebrating their big birthday by attending the Slieve Russell Hotel for a meal surrounded by both sets of families and friends. Grandchildren and great grandchildren also met up to join the two ladies for their 90th birthday celebrations.
The women grew up in Derrylin and both ladies are generally in good health and enjoy getting out and about in the community as much as they can. The twins enjoy a close relationship and regularly talk at length on the phone to each other and enjoy each others company and a chat when they meet up together.
The family of the two ladies have registered with the Guinness Book of Records and are currently waiting to find out if they have broken the record. It may take up to 12 weeks to find out whether the Fermanagh twins are the oldest in Ireland.
