LISBELLAW teen Sarah Jayne Makhlouf scooped not one but two top titles at the Ultimate Beauty of the World International Pageant.

The glitzy event at the Culloden Hotel in Belfast on Easter Sunday saw the 18-year-old take home the two titles up for grabs on the night for those who went the extra mile. She beat 22 other contestants in her teenage category from all over Ireland and Britain.

Since January, Sarah Jayne has been raising much needed funds for the Make A Wish foundation, which helps grant wishes for children who have life threatening conditions. Her success in raising £2,820 through bag packing, cake sales, street collections and pulling pints around Enniskillen over the past few weeks earned her the Ultimate Miss Charity title. This was awarded to the teen who raised the most money for Make A Wish. While on stage to accept her prize winning sash and tiara, the Collegiate A-level student was stunned to be rewarded with the Ultimate Beauty Ambassador title for the most media publicity, event organising and charity work.

Sarah Jayne said: “I was over the moon to win the Miss Charity title. When they called out my name all I could hear was my mum and friends screaming the place down. When I went on to be named Miss Ambassador I was speechless.”

As an Ultimate Beauty ambassador, Sarah Jayne will get to travel to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and Make A Wish Hospices to see at first hand the difference fundraising can make.

Sarah Jayne says the local community were hugely supportive of her fundraising efforts over recent weeks, particularly the 41 Club, The Rotary Club of Enniskillen and the Lisbellaw Veteran’s Group.

“I want to say a special thank you to the wonderful people of Fermanagh who gave so generously to Make A Wish, which is what it was all about,” she added.
