The centre is the only one of its kind in Fermanagh and relies solely on volunteers and fundraising.

This month they are hosting a gala evening to mark their 25th anniversary and will be hosting an evening filled with entertainment, food, wine and fun.

The event, taking place on Friday, October 23, will be held at the Lough Erne Resort with a drinks reception at 7:30pm. A gourmet dinner will be served by globally renowned chef, Noel McMeel followed by fine wines, fashion and entertainment.

Master of ceremonies will be hosted by BBC NI presenter, Wendy Austin.

The dress code for the evening is silver and black and prizes will be awarded for the most original splash of silver.

The centre will be marking two things throughout the night including the celebration of their achievements through the many thousands of people who have been helped, along with their families, to cope with life’s difficulties.

Aideen McGinely, who is helping organise the gala, said: “It is ever more important today to get help because of the pace of change, suicide in young people, debt crisis, bereavement and health issues.

“Almost 500 people a week and 5,000 a year, are helped at the centre which is a huge number.

“This year local actor Adrian Dunbarr became the patron and he sent a lovely message saying that it is a lovely local charity and its been a pride to him that people in Fermanagh open up their hearts to those in need.

“The centre is the only one of its kind which runs purely by charity and a voluntary board of directors.

“They provide counselling services for everything from survivors of sexual abuse to people struggling from life issues to depression and low self-esteem. We concentrate on positive things in life and life-learning from personal development through to stress management and compliment therapies.

“A lot of organisations use the centre including the cafe which is a very important aspect as people drop in and it provides a nice ethos of talking to someone in a comfortable place.

“Having this big gala event is a celebration of their work, those who have been helped and their families. It’s going to be a night of celebrating good things in life, good fun and fashion and looking good.

“Denise Devlin of Positive Parties will be keeping the fun element to the fore. There will also be fashion by Devlins which will include three sessions of fashion throughout the evening with a few local celebrities helping out including former Miss Northern Ireland Judith Wilson and Mary McCartney.”

The fashion, from Debenhams in Rushmere, will be hosted by personal shoppers who will give commentary and advice of all garments.

Tickets are priced at £75 each which covers the evening’s food, wine and entertainment as well as entry into a raffle and surprises.

Tickets available from Aisling Centre and can be contacted on 028 6632 5811.
