Ryan McCluskey will finally have a hearing on his red card appeal some ten days after the initial incident took place.

McCluskey and those arguing his case will have their hearing tonight, Wednesday, in Croke Park at 7pm.

The Fermanagh number six was dismissed by Padraig O’Sullivan midway through the second half in the Ulster semi-final against Monaghan in Breffni Park. It was a crucial moment in the game and helped turn the match in Monaghan’s favour.

The Kerry official decided to dismiss McCluskey after consulting with his umpire and adjudging the Enniskillen man to have dropped his knee on Monaghan’s Owen Duffy.

Subsequent footage of the incident showed it to be very much on the lower end of the disciplinary scale. There will be strong hope that McCluskey’s red card will be overturned tonight, allowing him to be available for selection for Sunday’s round two qualifier against Antrim.
