Still in love this Valentine’s…after 50 years!

IT WILL BE A special Valentine’s Day today for Fred and Matilda “Tilly” Parker, as later this year, the couple will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Matilda and Fred met when on a bus from Enniskillen going to Bundoran. Matilda had sat down in the seat in front of Fred, and he plucked up the courage to start talking to her.

The pair ended up spending the whole day together, and the rest is history.

On July 23 in 1963, they got married in Castle Archdale, while the reception was held in the Royal Arms, Omagh.

They then travelled across the water for their honeymoon in Coventry.

Matilda is 94 years old, while her husband has an impressive 88 years to his name.

Matilda said that she is looking forward to Valentine’s Day, and of the 50 years smiled: “It’s been very good, I’ve enjoyed the years!”
