Huge turnout for meeting on Fermanagh hospital

OVER 150 turned out to the Fermanagh House in Enniskillen last night (Thursday) for a meeting on the future of the South West Acute Hospital, organised by a local campaign group.

In the event, which was organised by campaign group Save Our Acute Services and chaired by North West News Group and WeAreTyrone journalist Alan Rodgers, Fermanagh residents made passionate pleas to local politicians and representatives, hearing their views on the removal of the Emergency General Surgery from the South West Acute Hospital in November 2022.

Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLAs, Jemma Dolan (Sinn Féin), Deborah Erskine (DUP) and Diana Armstrong (UUP), answered questions from the public, along with Fermanagh and Omagh District Councillors, Adam Gannon (SDLP) and Eddie Roofe (Alliance Party). The representatives told the crowd they supported proposals to restore services to the South West Acute Hospital.
