THE trial of a man accused of fraud and aggressive and misleading commercial practices in the local area has been adjourned.
George Richard Harker (46), with an address at Eddlethorpe Farm, Stockton Road, Darlington, had travelled from England to contest his case at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
However, the trial could not proceed as two of the prosecution witnesses were unable to attend court as they were unwell.
Harker is charged with two counts of fraud by false representation, two counts of engaging in a misleading commercial practice, and two counts of engaging in an aggressive commercial practice.
He also faces one count of common assault on one of the alleged victims of one of the fraud charges.
The commercial practice charges relate to incidents in July and August last year, and relate to tarmacing services provided by Harker, involving two alleged injured parties.
It is alleged the defendant quoted the customers a cost, then increased that cost when the job was completed.
The case was adjourned to April 16 to fix a new date for the contest.
